The 2020/21 season can begin.

All administrative work is done. Namibia airspace is defined and flyable. The Botswana airspace is free for gliding. The extension as ARO (Aviation Recreation Organisation) is made. The overflight permissions are there. The SSN wishes all pilots a lot of fun, many beautiful and accident-free flights.

New Chairman and Deputy Chairman of SSN

During the Anual Meeting, held on 16.01.2020, Gysbert von Westhuyzen was elected as Chairman and Rainer Hog as Deputy Chairman. Special thanks were given to the previous chairlady Mrs. Heidi Snyman for her special commitment over the past years.

2019/20 Airspace files version 2.00 ready for download

Compared to version 1.00, version 2.00 contains the new Botswana airspace (northern border at 21 degrees south). Additionally small changes have been made to the southern border of Namibia with South Africa. Ready for Download

Airspace Update V2.20

There’s a new version of the airspace files available here. This Airspace Rules are valid from 17.12.2017 up to 31.01.2018. It is allowed to fly outside of the Special Used Airspace below FL145 and outside of the TMA. Check it out!
